Couldn’t tell the difference but I stayed with the XXL. Great shirts. They fit comfortably and are solid for hiking or working out. Definitely recommend. For my size and weight (6’4 230lbs) I went with XXL. I ordered both XL and XXL and they both had a similar fit.
