Overall, it’s a great backpack. I recently lost my BMT backpack which I’ve been using as my carry on/72-hour bag for when I travel. I found this and decided to purchase after reading the reviews and I did my inspection as soon as I received it. The material is definitely like my old backpack. It’s sturdy. I’ve had tons of weight in my old backpack and it hasn’t given up on me for 2 years, so I’ll trust that this one won’t either. This one has a lot more compartments and pockets for me to store stuff in. I travelled recently and was able to fit a lot in it including my laptop, Nintendo Switch, a bag of toiletries, several pieces of clothing, and a pair of boots. The pockets were great to store cords, plugs, chargers, meds, etc. This backpack can carry a lot of weight and even a person as short as I am, it was still comfortable carrying it with the straps. Adjust it accordingly. If it’s fully packed, it will be very difficult to fit under your airplane seat. I’ve had to store mine in the overhead compartment. But if it’s not too full, I’m confident that you can store it easily under the seat.
I would most definitely recommend them for travel. I now have 4 of these. We have used them to travel all over Europe, and they work wonderfully. My daughter went on a 6 day trip to London and only carried this back pack, half for everyday necessities and saved the other half for souvenirs and the bag was great. you can fit a lot of stuff in them, and they pass as a personal item on American airelines, and as a carryon on European ones. They are not water proof, they are mildly water resistant. They adjust easily, and have put up with being overstuffed and thrown everywhere, plus buses. I scotchgarded 2 of them for Ireland, and it kinda helped. Mostly we just kept them under cover. I have fit 4 days worth of clothing and travel gear in one, and I am not small.
