Update: After a couple of attempts I was contacted by customer service: It turns out my emails to them were going into their SPAM folder. Once we connected they were very helpful and sent me a new bag it seems to have an improved design. They claim on their website a 24 hour reply time and the product is covered by a 5 year warranty. I am very satisfied with their customer service and I feel that the product is well designed and is of high quality. I will buy other products from them again in the future. Followed it up with two more emails and a couple of phone calls still have not received a reply after 5 days. I bought this backpack for my 12 year old son to use for school. Very disappointed.
