Before ordering these, I had used athletic wrap for compression on my lower shins/calves to treat shin splints that I'm guessing resulted from too much training, too fast, on harder surfaces such as concrete and with Nikes. The wrap helped, but wasn't a great long term solution since it wasn't that reusable and was expensive. So I ordered these, which help with the pain just as much, if not more. For sizing, I followed the instructions and measured my calves at their largest circumferences and actually noticed that the one I have more pain is about an inch bigger (16. 5 vs 15. 5"). This falls into the bottom of the large range, so I have an appropriate amount of extra room/ slightly less compression. But they're very comfortable. I've been wearing them all day (even to sleep) for a couple days and my calves have started to feel better. They don't even ever feel like they need to be taken off, like when you wear tighter sock sometimes and they start to leave marks on your ankles. I assume they'll be great for running, but I'm really liking just wearing them casually. Will update if they're not.
