The velcro is solid and holds strong. The keyholder is secure and I've never felt concerned I was going to lose the key out of the pocket. The one thing I would recommend is if you have an iPhone 11, that you turn off Emergency SOS that's triggered by your side buttons. I accidentally called 911 once because I unknowingly had both side buttons on each side. This is more my fault than the case's.
