Should have gotten it sooner. As a public school teacher during a pandemic I have to pack up and take the essential stuff back and forth daily between school and home. UPDATE:I recently returned from another outing with this pack, loading it with 40 lbs of gear plus weight of water, still holds all of this relatively comfortably. I have had zero quality issues thus far, a year after purchasing. Just an initial review as I haven't gotten out with the pack yet but so far all the material and stitching seems to be high quality.
She has gardening in mind, and I'm not sure if these will take well to some amount of wetness and mud, but we'll see about that. So I looked on JChlw and ordered a pair of these -- good reviews and inexpensive. They came very promptly and work great for this purpose -- the elastic behind the knees keeps them in place, but doesn't make it hard to bend the joint or cross one leg over the other. My wife liked these so well when they came that we immediately ordered a pair for her as well. I have two artificial knee joints as a result of surgery a couple of years ago. In the meantime, they're great for indoor use. Took up a yoga/stretching class and the kneeling bits were painful even on a thin mat.
