My arms is 16 1/4 inches around so I got the extra large and it fits fine: snug but not too tight or loose, close to the arms and out of the way, and it doesn't impede my ability to exercise. The rubber nubs help keep it in place very well. I will say that the design does prevent you from accessing your phone easily, so if you're going to switching around songs or trying to access apps or your phone a lot during your workout. This is best for a workout where you "set it and forget it" like a long run or if you have controls on your headphones or your wearable device where you don't need to use your phone's touch screen. This is a good fit for both phone and arm, especially if you have bulky ones of both. My iphone 8+ in an Otterbox Defender fits snug to tight but once it's in it stays in place.
