Update - the company contacted me to ask if they could make it right be either replacing the backpack or refunding my money. Fits my Acer 15. 6" perfectly and has enough pockets to carry mouse, pad etc. Just strange to see it this way but not a hindrance or problem. The strap attachment is a bit weird as it only as hooks on the back of the bag instead of the corners/sides. I thought it would cause a problem carrying but to my surprise it does not.
