Apparently there are two sizes, and you don't know which one you are ordering. Also, as we men of somewhat substantial belly size know, waist size does not tell the whole story.
I wish it had a chest strap, but that is the only improvement it could have. I went nine miles through snow + elevation changes and it was comfortable the whole way when lightly packed.
The cheap ones are probably cheap and junky, and the expensive ones are too much for this kinda thing. The cheap ones got more. Love this thing. Anyway, thoroughly impressed. Do wish it had a few more attachments, can't really find them online for a good price. Battery lasts for days of use, thing has more then enough power. Went with this one cause it seemed like a Decent price.
